: BYAA holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Ghana, and he is a Researcher at Research Web Africa in Sunyani-Ghana. JVP holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Ghana. She is currently a Principal Nursing Officer at the Tema General Hospital, Tema-Ghana. DB holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Ghana, and she is a Senior Nursing Officer at the Sunyani Municipal Hospital, Sunyani. BDA holds a Master of Science degree and a PhD fellow in Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He is currently a lecturer at the Department of Environmental Health and Sanitation Education, College of Agriculture Education, University of Education, Winneba, Asante-Mampong, Ghana.
: Ethical clearance for the study was obtained from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) Ethical Review Committee (GHS-ERC 103/12/15) and letter of permission was sought from the District Health Management Team of the sub-metro. The objective and rationale for the study was explained to all survey respondents and their informed written consent were obtained before conducting interviews. Participation was voluntary.
