: With permission of the University of Idaho Experimental Forest, we collected roots of <i>Pinus ponderosa</i>, a common, widespread species across the western United States that is not listed as threatened or endangered in the IUCN list (indicated as having the ‘least concern’ status in the Red List Assessment; ).
