: This study protocol received institutional approval by the Research Ethics Committees from Moi University Institutional Research and Ethics Committee in Kenya (IREC/2019/304), Lagos State University Teaching Hospital Health Research and Ethics Committee (LREC/06/10/1304), and Duke University Health System Institutional Review Board (Pro00104256 and Pro00105072) and was registered on on 9 June 2020 with the public and scientific title “Malaria Diagnostic Testing and Conditional Subsidies to Target ACTs in the Retail Sector: the TESTsmART Trial Aim 2” (NCT04428307, NCT04428385).
