Ethics approval and consent to participate

: Ethical approval was obtained from the East London and the City Research Ethics Committee 1 (09/H0703/27). All participants provided written consent to the study (or gave verbal permission for a carer to sign on their behalf).Procedures involving animals and their care were conducted in conformity with institutional guidelines that comply with national (Legislative Degree 26.03.2014) and international (EEC Council Directive 2010/63, August, 2013) laws and policies. Animals studies were approved by the Mario Negri Institute Animal Care and Use Committee and by the Italian Ministerial decree no. 84–2013.
