: Before enrolling in the study, all participants were provided with informed consent forms, detailing the study aims, procedures, risks, and benefits in their native language, to review and sign. The research team obtained verbal consent for participants at least 18 years old or emancipated minors, as well as assent for minors. The GAGE study has been approved by the George Washington University Institutional Review Board (IRB #071721), with a ‘minimal risk to participants’ appraisal. Approvals in Jordan were also provided by the governmental Department for Statistics and by a UN research working group for formal refugee camps.
