: This study received ethical approval internally from African Population and Health Research Center Scientific Research Committee, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Ethics Review Board. National approvals were also obtained from the AMREF Research and Ethics committee in Kenya and the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI). Permits were also obtained from the UNHCR, and the county and the sub-county levels in Kenya. All study participants were provided with all the necessary information regarding the purpose of the study and information channels using the language they understood. Written informed consent was obtained from the household head or next in charge on behalf of the whole household.
