Ethics approval and consent to participate: Ethical approval was obtained from the Baraha Medical City Medical Ethics and Research Committee, Sudan (Approval No. BMC-0314-21-9-2024). This retrospective cohort study utilized routinely collected clinical data from adult patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis before and during the armed conflict in Sudan. Approval was obtained prior to data consolidation, statistical analysis, and structured follow-up. Verbal informed consent was obtained from surviving participants or their legally authorized representatives following ethics approval, and this consent procedure was approved by the ethics committee. The study was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and relevant institutional and national ethical guidelines.
