Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Ethical approval for the study was obtained from University of Cape Town Health Sciences Faculty Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC Ref number 194/2014) and University of Malawi’s College of Medicine Research and Ethics Committee (COMREC) prior to data collection. Participants were provided with information on the study, both verbal and written. Informed written consent was obtained from participants. Participants were free to withdraw from the study at any time without withdrawing from the training. All data was anonymised and stored securely. Participants were given a meal allowance for attendance at the workshop and reimbursement of travel expenses.
