Ethics approval and consent to participate
: A retrospective, observational study was performed to investigate the management of blunt splenic injuries in the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU). For this analysis, a waiver was provided by the institutional medical ethics committee (reference number: 18/202). In addition, in line with the academic hospital policy, an opt-out procedure is in place for the use of patient data for research purposes. The process and storage of data are in accordance with privacy and ethics regulations.
