It is regarded as a quality assurance project by the Regional Committee for Medical and Health Research Ethics (registration number S-20182000-130). Approval for conducting the study as a quality assurance project was granted by the Prehospital Organisation in the Region of Southern Denmark (Journal no. 19/14433). Furthermore, The Danish National Committee on Health Research Ethics does not require approval using qualitative methods (such as participant observation and interviews). To ensure anonymity, all patients have been identified by numbers only and are represented by numbers in this article. All informants signed consent prior to participating in the main study including present sub-study.
