: Formal consent was not required due to the retrospective and observational nature of the study. In accordance with current French law, informed written consent for demographic, physiologic and hospital outcome data analyses was not obtained because this observational study did not modify existing diagnostic or therapeutic strategies. Nonetheless, patients and/or relatives were informed about the anonymous data collection and told that they could decline inclusion. The protocol was reviewed by the French Ethics Committee for Infectious and Tropical Diseases (CER-MIT), and the study was declared to the French Data Protection Authority in accordance with international recommendations for observational studies (Ref CER-BDX 2025 − 137, Appendix 2).
