: The ACTIBATE study is a RCT, registered at ClinicalTrials.gov (ID: NCT02365129). The Human Research Ethics Committee of both University of Granada (n° 924) and Servicio Andaluz de Salud (Centro de Granada, CEI-Granada) approved the study design, study protocols, and informed consent procedure. All participants have provided written informed consent. The study was performed following the ethical guidelines of the Declaration of Helsinki, last modified in 2013.All experimental procedures involving animals were approved by the Cantonal Veterinary office of Zurich, Switzerland.
