: The Kenya-based research reported here was conducted with permission from the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA), and the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI), which we currently renew on an annual basis. Samples were collected and exported under NEMA permits and CITES permits from KWS. We also hold a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with KWS, the University of Nairobi, the Kenya Institute of Primate Research, and the National Museums of Kenya that details the ABRP research mission and commitment to benefits sharing under the Nagoya Protocol.
