Ethics approval and consent to participate

: Ethical approval was obtained from the University of Cape Town’s Faculty of Health Sciences Human Research Ethics Committee (ethical approval no. 523/2016). Thereafter, permission was obtained from the Western Cape Education Department, school principals, teachers and parents of participants. Assent was additionally collected from participants at baseline and at six months after intervention.
