Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The intervention protocol has been approved by the Ethics Committee for Clinical Research (CEIC) from the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) (reference: PR276/16), as well as by the Ethics Committee of each of the five participating hospitals. The study protocol has been registered under ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT03230955, approved 24 July 2017).At all times, requirements established by Law 14/2007, of 3rd July, on Biomedical Research will be met by researchers. The study will take place in compliance with the Declaration of Helsinki.Smokers who meet the inclusion criteria will receive a brief explanation of the purpose of the study. They will also be given an information sheet and will be asked to fill in the informed consent. The information will be protected according to the standards established by Law 15/1999 on the Protection of Personal Data.
