: Prof. Dr. Mike Ralf Langenbach is the clinical director of Helios St. Elisabeth Hospital in Oberhausen/Germany and the head of the department of general/visceral surgery and coloproctology. He is a Professor at the University of Witten/Herdecke, Depart. Surgery II, Germany and teaches surgery there. He has a degree in general surgery; visceral surgery; minimal invasive surgery, und proctology. His scientific interests are clinical studies, especially in the fields of coloproctology and the reduction of pain in the perioperative and postoperative management patients undergoing surgery.Dörthe Seidel is a physician with specializing in surgical research, clinical trials, medical products, and wound healing. She is the head of the division for clinical research in IFOM. She gained many years of experience as a study leader in a multinational and a German national RCT and supports the NoTamp-study as the project manager of the trial.
: This study is conducted in accordance with the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) Harmonized Tripartite Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice 1996, the European Union (EU) Directive 95/46/EC on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data as transposed into national law and in the spirit of the Declaration of Helsinki concerning medical research in humans (latest edition).Ethical approval of the Lead Ethical Committee (LEC, German: Federführende Ethikkommission) “Ethical Committee of the University of Witten/Herdecke” has been fully granted without any conditions.
