Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Official permission was granted by the WHO to use the PM+ manual for this study. The study was registered at the Internet Portal of the German Clinical Trials Register (DRKS) (registration number: DRKS00016538) as required by the Declaration of Helsinki. Ethical approval was granted by the institutional review board of the University of Vienna (reference numbers: 00356 and 00445). Furthermore, we obtained a Universal Trial Number (UTN) to facilitate the unambiguous identification of our trial (UTN: U1111–1226-3285). Details of the study will be explained to participants prior to their involvement in the study by a clinical psychologist at the baseline assessment using an informational leaflet in Dari; if needed, an interpreter will assist the information process. Written informed consent will be obtained from participants who agree to take part in the study. The results of this clinical trial will be presented at conferences and disseminated through publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
