: This trails has been approved by the relevant institutional review board (103-0421A3; ClinicalTrials.gov identifier NCT04006587). We recruited adult patients (>18 years old) seen at our institution between June 2014 and May 2017 with traumatic rib fractures. Written inform consent was obtained from all participants.
