Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Sanquin’s Ethical Advisory Board has approved the FIND’EM protocol and considered the study not to fall within the scope of the Medical Research Involving Human Subjects Act. For the outcomes Hb and ferritin levels, low-Hb deferral and donor return, we only include donors who gave consent for their information and left-over material to be used for research purposes. For the outcome donor health, we only use data from donors who provided consent for their questionnaire data to be matched with data from the donor database.
