Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Ethical approval was obtained for the study protocol and informed consent documents from LSHTM Intervention Ethics Committee (Ref. 14545) and Gambian Government/MRCG Joint Ethics Committee (Ref. 1591). Any substantial changes to the study protocol which may impact on the study conduct or patient safety will be submitted to the ethics committees, and after approval, the sponsor, trial registry, TSC and DSMB will be notified.
