: This study has been approved by the UW IRB (2022–0545). Written, informed consent to participate whenever possible will be obtained from all participants or their legally appointed representatives. We will have a waiver of written documentation of consent and HIPAA authorization from patients who test positive for COVID-19 during their hospital admission and/or for patients who are discharged prior to consent. In these cases, the research assistant will contact the participant per institutional policy regarding who may make the first contact.
