: These TwiCs were approved by the National Health Research and Ethics Committee (NH-REC) of Lesotho (ID 102–2022) and the Ethikkomission Nordwest- und Zentralschweiz (EKNZ) in Switzerland (ID AO_2022_00074). Protocol amendments will be communicated to the involved ethics committees and updated on ClinicalTrials.gov.Participants for the TwiCs are recruited among the ComBaCaL cohort population. All participants gave written informed consent with electronic signatures to participate in the ComBaCaL cohort study and to be randomly selected for nested TwiCs (31,32).
