: The educational and behavioral intervention is addressed to the entire group of birth attendants in each unit participating in the trial. Given that the purpose of the study is improvement in the quality of care, there will be no additional risk for the women and their fetuses/offspring. While obstetricians are the subjects of this trial, the main outcomes will be measured in respect of the patient. Since all the necessary data pertaining to the outcome measurement is routinely collected by the hospital and no personal identifiers will be communicated via the data, informed consent will be obtained from the pregnant women by the enrolled obstetricians responsible for their care. The study was approved by the Bioethics and Conduct Committee of the University of Athens Medical School and by the Ethical Committees of all participating hospitals before its initiation [, ].
: Consent for publication of the study’s results and ancillary studies was taken from all participants together with their initial consent for participation, but personal identity details will not be available. The original consent forms are kept with other material under the care of the Principal Investigator and the HSOG and are available upon reasonable request and with the permission of the principal investigator of the study and corresponding author, Nikolaos Vrachnis. Enrolled obstetricians provide by default written consent for publication of the study’s results, upon their acceptance to participate in the trial. No publication restrictions are imposed by the sponsor. No professional writers will be hired.
