: Ethics approval has been obtained from the Swedish Ethical Review Authority (registration no. 2024–01706-01). Approval has also been obtained from the Kabale University Research Ethics Committee (registration no. KABREC-2024–185), and the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST registration no. HS4691ES). Permission to conduct research in Nakivale comes from the Office of the Prime Minister, which oversees the welfare of refugees. We will obtain informed consent from all participating mothers, and assent from participating children.
