Ethics approval and consent to participate: The study was conducted in accordance with the criteria of the Helsinki Declaration, the ICH Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice, the Memorandum for the Preservation of Good Scientific Practice (DFG), the International Ethical Guidelines for Biomedical Research with Humans (CIOMS/WHO), the CONSORT criteria, and the Guidelines for Developing and Evaluating Complex Interventions (Medical Research Council). The entire intersec-CM study was reviewed and assessed as legally and ethically unobjectionable by the Ethics Committee of the University Medical Center Greifswald (BB 159/17) as well as the Ethics Committee of the Medical Association of Westphalia-Lippe and the University of Münster (2017-688-b-S).
