: This study was performed within the guidelines established by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (IACUC), using protocol 15-H-034-IACUC, title “Life cycle, feeding and defecation patterns of kissing bugs (Hemiptera: Reduviidae: Triatominae) under laboratory conditions”, approved by the Ohio University Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. Triatomines were collected under Ecuadorian collections permit No. 002-07-IC-FAU-DNBAPVS/MA, 008- RM-DPM-MA and 011-2015 IC-INF-VS-DPL-MA. This study did not include human participants.
