: All sand fly collections were performed following the guidelines of the Colombian decree no. 1376. Insects were collected under resolution no. 0207 of 090320 of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MADS) and Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Sand flies were collected on private property and permission was received from landowners before sampling.
