: For samples from <i>S. stercoralis</i> endemic areas, ethical approval was secured from the Ethiopian Public Health Institute Scientific and Ethical Review Office (SERO-128-4-2005, amended for blood sampling) and Imperial College London's Institutional Review Board (ICREC_8_2_2), as detailed in Roose et al.
