: Infection experiments and other procedures were reviewed and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, Vilnius, Lithuania (ref. no. 2020-04-07, Nr. 21) and the Lithuanian State Food and Veterinary Service (ref. no. 2023/03/15, SR-197). Animals were kept at the Nature Research Centre vivarium (license no. LT-61-13-003) under standard living conditions for birds.
