: This study was conducted in accordance with the ethical principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki (1975, revised 2013) for research involving human subjects. The protocol was reviewed and approved by the Independent Bioethics Committee for Research of the National Center for Bioethics (CIBI-CENABI, in Spanish) of Venezuela (CIBI-CENABI-16/2023). Prior to participation, all subjects received detailed information about the study objectives and procedures, including blood sample collection, and provided both written and verbal informed consent. For participants under 18 years of age, informed consent was obtained from their parents and/or authorized representatives. All patients who tested positive for T. cruzi antibodies were evaluated by specialists at the Instituto de Medicina Tropical "Dr. Félix Pifano" and received therapeutic recommendations on the basis of established international guidelines [].
