: All samples were collected by animal breeders in accordance with Czech legislation (Act No. 246/1992 Coll. on the Protection of Animals Against Cruelty) and relevant European regulations. The study design was reviewed and approved by the Ethics Committee of the Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences (protocol No. 73-2024-P). The size of cages, boxes and aviaries was in accordance with Czech legislation (Act No. 246/1992 Coll. on the Protection of Animals from Cruelty) and European legislation. An external heat source was used for young birds during the first 5 days of life. Sterilised food and water were available ad libitum for all animals. Keepers wore sterile shoe covers, disposable coveralls and disposable gloves when entering the experimental room. Wood chip bedding and disposable protective clothing were removed from the experimental room and incinerated.
