: Ethical clearance was obtained from the ethics committees of NIMR Tanzania (Ref: NIMR/HQ/R.8a/Vol X/86), London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), and WHO. Written informed consent was obtained from all volunteers participating in the study, and each volunteer was provided with chemoprophylaxis and monitored daily for fever or possible adverse events due to insecticide exposure from the nets.
