: All the experimental procedures for this study were conducted following the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC) (Registration number 840/G0/Re/S/04/CPCSEA). Approved entomological procedures were followed in the case of handling larvae or adult mosquitoes. A trimmed rat was provided as a blood meal for the female mosquitoes by obtaining approval from the IAEC.
