: From early RA patients, synovium biopsies were collected by routinely performed mini-arthroscopic tissue sampling of a knee joint after informed consent and in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. The human biological samples were sourced ethically and their research use was in accordance with the terms of the informed consents under an IRB/EC-approved protocol. All animal experiments were conducted according to Dutch law and approved by the Dutch Central Authority for Scientific Procedures on Animals (AVD 103002016786 and AVD 10300202010389).
