: This study was approved by the Biosafety, Animal Use, and Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Nairobi. REF BAUEC/2019/220 issued on 24<sup>th</sup> April 2019. The animals (brine shrimps; <i>Artemia salina</i>) used in this study were commercially sourced thus the owner’s consent was not required.
