: This study was approved by Makerere University School of Public Health Higher Degrees Research and Ethics Committee and the Uganda National Council of Science and Technology (UNCS&T). We, the authors confirm that all methods and experiments were performed in accordance with relevant institutional guidelines and regulations. In addition, administrative approval was obtained from the office of the District Health Officer of Kitgum District, Local Council III Chairpersons at the two sub-county headquarters.
