: This study involves secondary analyses of existing, de-identified data from the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA) and the Framingham Heart Study (FHS). All original cohort protocols were approved by the local Institutional Review Boards or Ethics Committees at each participating institution, and all participants provided written informed consent at enrollment. The present secondary analysis was reviewed and approved by the Human Research Protection Program Institutional Review Board at Yale University (IRB protocol 2000036485; expedited review; approval date November 21, 2023) and by the Biomedical Institutional Review Board at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV-2025–267, “Secondary multi-omics data analyses to understand genetic effect of Hypertension”; expedited review; approval date July 24, 2025).
