: The general study protocol for DELCODE was approved by the ethical committees of the medical faculties of all participating sites: the ethical committees of Berlin (Charité, University Medicine), Bonn, Cologne, Göttingen, Magdeburg, Munich (Ludwig-Maximilians-University), Rostock, and Tübingen. The process was led and coordinated by the ethical committee of the medical faculty of the University of Bonn. The registration number of the trial at the ethical committee in Bonn is 117/13. All included subjects gave informed consent to participate and to use collected biomaterial and data for general research purposes. The DELCODE study was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki.
