Ethics approval and consent to participate: This study used de-identified archival clinical records. This study was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and complied with the U.S. Common Rule (45 CFR 46). Ethical approval was obtained from an Institutional Review Board (IRB). The study was determined to be exempt under the Common Rule as secondary research involving the use of de-identified clinical data. Written informed consent was obtained from all participants. All participants provided informed consent for their de-identified data to be used for external research purposes prior to completing intake documentation. Participation in research use of data was voluntary and could be declined without impact on access to clinical services.

Consent for publication: During consent for data to be used for research purposes, participants consented to the use of data in publications. All authors consent and approve this publication.

Competing interests: Three of the five authors are clinicians and in leadership at the healthcare organization in which data was collected. There are autistic authors and authors across the broad autism phenotype represented, which may also influence interpretation.
