: The protocol for the sample acquisition of scRNA-seq and the use of peripheral blood-derived cells was approved by the ethical committee of the Air Force Medical University (AFMU) (approval number: IRB-REV-2022049) on 20 May 2022. The research was titled “Single-cell RNA sequencing for the pathogenesis of oral submucous fibrosis”. Observational study analysis of pathological sections in the present study was approved by the ethical committee of the AFMU (approval number: IRB-REV-2022058) on 15 June 2022. The research was titled “Effects of fibrotic mechanisms on epidermal cells of oral mucosa”. All participants provided informed consent before sample collection and publication. All procedures were performed in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. The animal experiments were approved by the Animal Experiment Administration Committee of the AFMU (No. 2021-010) on 2 March 2021. The research was titled “Pathogenesis and blocking strategies of oral submucous fibrosis”. All experimental procedures were carried out following the “Animal Research: Reporting of In Vivo Experiments” guidelines for preclinical animal studies.
