: Human material: Lipoaspirate was obtained from seven healthy donors undergoing elective plastic surgery after informed consent and according to a protocol approved by the Ethics Committee of Basel University Hospital and local authorities (title: ‘Herstellung dreidimensionaler Gewebe aus isolierten Zellen’, Permit number 78/07 of the Ethikkommission beider Basel, Basel, Switzerland, 22.03.2007). All investigations conform to the declaration of Helsinki. Animal studies: Animals were treated in compliance with the Swiss local and Federal guidelines for animal welfare, as well as international legislature. All procedures were previously approved and monitored by the local Veterinary Office of the Canton Basel-Stadt, Basel, Switzerland (title: ‘Engineering of a cardiac tissue with angiogenic and repair potential in nude rats’, local Veterinary Office of the Canton Basel-Stadt, Basel, Switzerland, license approval number 30631_2608, approval date 01.03.2022).
