: The study was commenced after obtaining ethical approval for human subjects from the Institutional Ethical Committee (IEC) (Title: “Development of Bioengineered Extracellular Vesicles derived from Mesenchymal Stem Cells as a therapeutic intervention for liver disease”, Ref. No. IECPG-87/07.03.2023; Date of Approval:20.04.2023). Moreover, Ethical approval for stem cell research was obtained from the Institutional Committee for Stem Cell Research (IC-SCR) (Title: “Development of Bioengineered Extracellular Vesicles derived from Mesenchymal Stem Cells as a therapeutic intervention for liver disease”, Ref No. IC-SCR/140/23 (R); Date of Approval: 22.08.2023). Additionally, approval for animal studies was granted from the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC) (Title: “Development of Bioengineered Extracellular Vesicles derived from Mesenchymal Stem Cells as a therapeutic intervention for liver disease”, Ref. No. 422/IAEC-1/2023; Date of Approval: 04.08.2023), AIIMS, New Delhi, India. Informed consent was obtained from all participating subjects and all procedures were performed as per guidelines approved by the ethics committee. The Human HuH7 cell lines were kindly gifted by Dr Savneet Kaur, Associate Professor, Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) New Delhi, India. Dr Savneet Kaur obtained the cell line from National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune, Maharashtra, India. HuH7, a secondary cell line, is derived from differentiated hepatocellular carcinoma cell line. The original source has confirmed that there was initial ethical approval for collection of human cell line, and that the donors had signed informed consent.
