: All experimental procedures involving animals were performed according to the institutional animal care guidelines and ethically approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committe (IACUC) of Nanjing Medical University (IACUC-2411053, Title: Investigating the Regenerative Effect of Mitochondrial Transplantation on Periodontal Defects in Rats; Date of approval: Nov 15, 2024). The approval encompassed the isolation and preparation of human periodontal ligament stem cells, the recruitment of patients with acute ischemic stroke, and the collection of their biological samples for research purposes. All human tissue samples were collected following the Ethical Committee Department, Affiliated Hospital of Stomatology, Nanjing Medical University approval (PJ2022-188-001, Title: Mitochondrial transplantation promotes periodontal bone regeneration by regulating inflammatory microenvironment and metabolic homeostasis; Date of approval: Oct 1, 2022). THP-1 was obtained from Jiangsu Province Key Laboratory of Oral Diseases, and the cells were purchased from Procell (Wuhan, China).
