: The study, “Allogeneic Umbilical Cord – Derived Mesenchymal Stromal Cells for Treatment of Refractory Lupus Nephritis”, was approved by the local Ethics Committee at the Drum Tower Hospital of Nanjing University Medical School on December 1, 2006. The clinical trial was registered on the Clinical Trials website under the title “Mesenchymal Stem Cells Transplantation for Refractory Systemic Lupus Erythematosus” on March 1, 2007. The registration number is NCT00698191. Informed consent was obtained from all individual participants included in the study. Patients signed informed consent regarding publishing their data.
