: The research protocol was approved by the Gastroenterology Biobank Review Committee and the local Medical Ethical Review Committee. The study strictly adhered to the Dutch code of conduct for responsible use of human tissue in medical research. All tissue specimens and associated clinicopathological data were utilized in an anonymized manner and in accordance with the principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki (1964). The local animal welfare body of the LUMC reviewed and approved all animal studies.
