Ethics approval and consent to participate: This study was conducted in strict accordance with the Laboratory Animal Welfare and Ethics Guidelines issued by the Jiangsu Administrative Committee. The experimental protocols were reviewed and approved by the Jiangsu Province Department of Science and Technology (Approval Numbers: SYXK (SU) 2022-0044 and SCXK (SU) 2022-0009). For all infection procedures, 6-week-old female BALB/c mice were obtained from the Comparative Medicine Centre of Yangzhou University and accorded a one-week acclimatization period before experimentation. Measures were taken to minimize animal distress and discomfort.
