: We have the proof of payment of vicuña fibre that we bought from the Santa Catalina Agro-livestock Cooperative (COOPASAC, register as INAES 49350), obtained from the vicuñas in the Carayoc (Santa Catalina, Jujuy, Argentine), captured on the 18/11/2018 approved by Res 088/2018 as part of the Local Management Plan (Arzamendia et al. CitationRef removed) by the Provincial Directorate of Biodiversity of the Ministry of Environment of Jujuy, Argentine. The vicuña captures were made following the animal welfare protocols set up by GECS/ UICN (Bonacic et al. CitationRef removed), for which the authors complied with the IUCN Policy Statement on Research Involving Species at Risk of Extinction and the Convention on the Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.We worked with human participants under the code of ethics for research, research-action and ethno-scientific collaboration in Latin America (Version two) of SOLAE, the Latin-American Society of Ethnobiology (SOLAE Ethics Committee et al. CitationRef removed). We obtained informed consent to participate in the study from the Barconte family participants and their permission to use pictures and recordings in the manuscript.
