: This systematic review does not require ethics approval as it is a review of primary studies. We will not collect any identified individual-level participant data within this study. All data from the study (including extraction details, risk-of-bias assessments, statistical files [such as RevMan files]) will be made available via a publically available project space using open science platforms. A full review report will be submitted to the Vector Control & Insecticide Resistance Unit, Global Malaria Program, WHO. A version of this report will be submitted for publication in an open access peer-reviewed journal. The report will inform the development of WHO recommendations regarding residual insecticide surface treatment for malaria.
