In Liberia, the University of Liberia-Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation Institutional Review Board (ULPIRE) (now the Atlantic Center for Research and Evaluation (ACRE) Institutional Review Board, approved the study (Protocol #21-07-275). In Sierra Leone, the Office of the Sierra Leone Ethics and Scientific Review Committee at the Ministry of Health and Sanitation reviewed and approved the study protocol.
