The local ethics committee was informed, but waved approval due to the descriptive design of the study; the ethics committee argued that all patients receive state of the art treatment of their disease. In addition to that, study participants complete self-reporting questionnaires before and after the procedure, which was not rated harmful (Amt der Salzburger Landesregierung, Ethikkommission für das Bundesland Salzburg, Postfach 527, 5010 Salzburg, Austria).
